The diagnosis of the Equal Remuneration (DER) tool is one of the many approaches that aim to address this issue. In this article, we will discuss what the DER tool is, how it benefits a company and the community, and how we at Win & Winnow have obtained a 0% pay gap when measuring equal remuneration.

What Is the Diagnosis of Equal Remuneration (DER) Tool and How to Implement It?

The Diagnosis of Equal Remuneration (DER) tool is a method developed by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) to help companies identify and eliminate gender pay gaps. It is a free online tool that provides a step-by-step guide for companies to assess their remuneration policies, practices, and systems to ensure they are free from gender bias.

The DER tool is easy to use and accessible to all companies, regardless of their size or sector. The tool provides companies with a series of questions that cover various aspects of remuneration, including job evaluation, pay scales, and bonuses. Companies can complete the questionnaire online and receive a customized report that identifies any gender pay gaps and provides recommendations to address them.

The implementation of the DER tool is straightforward. At Win & Winnow, we did so as part of our Action Plan Towards Gender Equality. First, we appointed a team responsible for completing the DER questionnaire. This team included individuals with knowledge of the company’s remuneration policies and practices, as well as familiar with our commitment to the Women Empowerment Principles. Second, the team completed the questionnaire honestly and thoroughly, ensuring that all questions were answered accurately. Third, the team reviewed the report generated by the tool and took action to address any identified gender pay gaps. In our case, we obtained a 0% pay gap when measuring equal remuneration.

0% Pay Gap When Measuring Equal Remuneration
