A high-level jury is responsible for selecting the award recipients in each category (large, medium, and small businesses). It is composed of Cecilia Alemany, Deputy Regional Director and Representative of UN Women Argentina; Monique Altschul, President of Women in Equality; Yukiko Arai, ILO Director in Argentina; Ana Franchi, President of CONICET; Viktoria L\u00f6venberg, Head of the Economic and Trade Section of the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina; Flavio Fuertes, Coordinator of the United Nations Global Compact in Argentina; and Ricardo Pahlen Acu\u00f1a, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n<p>The 29 finalist companies of the WEPs Awards are Accenture, American Express, Banco Galicia, Bristol Myers Squibb, Cervecer\u00eda y Malter\u00eda Quilmes, Citi, C&amp;F, Distribuidora Frappampino SRL, Enel Argentina, EY, Ford Argentina, Globant, Grupo Mitre, HR Strategy, JP Morgan, L&#8217;Or\u00e9al Argentina, Manpowergroup, Mercury Global Logistics, McCann Buenos Aires, Medtronic Latin America, Newsan, Prudential, PWC, Renault, Tabes S.A, Tecpetrol, Travel Pharma, Universidad de Flores, Win &amp; Winnow Language Services.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Why Win &amp; Winnow participates in the WEPs Awards<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WEPs<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Argentina &#8220;Companies for Them&#8221;<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Award,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">which is held in other countries of the region such as Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Ecuador, is an initiative that aims to encourage gender equality and the empowerment of women in Argentina and recognizes the efforts of companies that have successful practices, programs and actions aligned with the 7 WEP Principles. One of the novelties of this edition is the incorporation of the COVID-19 category, which rewards those companies that, during the context of the pandemic, implemented good practices for gender equality in the market and in the community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Win &amp; Winnow participated in the first edition of the WEPs Award Argentina and obtained the recognition of the Gold Award in the Small Business<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.winandwinnow.com\/site\/premio-weps-2019-win-winnow-recibe-el-oro\/\"> <b>category.<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In the words of Cecilia Cal\u00f3nico, General Manager, &#8220;the WEPs are a great point of reference to frame the actions that all companies should pursue.&#8221; The WEPs Award not only recognizes the efforts made before reaching that stage but also marks a path of improvement towards a more inclusive world.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the Win-Win program? Gender equality is good business<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Created in partnership between the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and funded by the European Union (EU) through its Partnership Instrument, the program &#8220;Win-Win: Gender Equality is Good Business&#8221; promotes gender equality through the private sector to increase women&#8217;s economic empowerment and leadership for sustainable, inclusive, and equitable growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along with Argentina, Win-Win is implemented in five other Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries\u2014Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Uruguay\u2014in collaboration with EU countries. Win-Win focuses on strengthening the capacity of public- and private-sector actors to highlight the business benefits of gender equality, and on advancing women&#8217;s leadership in business, workforce participation, access to decent work and secure income, entrepreneurship, autonomy, and economic empowerment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Principles Behind The WEPs Awards: The Women&#8217;s Empowerment Principles<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Women&#8217;s Empowerment Principles (WEP) are an initiative launched by UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact in 2010 to promote gender equality in companies, the workplace, and the communities where they operate.
